Cold feet

Being a newbie means i don`t have a clue ! Went out for a ride , could not undersatand why my feet started to freeze .I had to get my girlfriend to pick me up in the van ,could not feel my feet .


I later found air intakes under the shoes ,there must of been a gale blowing in ,do the covers go over this area ? cheers

Yep, just get some neoprene overshoes, £20 or so. I have standard summer style vented shoes that I use with overshoes in the winter months.

Decent socks will also help.

Thanks Teebs ,can you advice me on mud guards ,just wan`tt some light weight plastic one`s .I don`t have two bikes .

They all do the same job and are pretty much universal, so find a design you like and a price to suit really

99p store have mudguards that are made of a plastic so cheap and flexible it will not break, but simply bend straight back to shape! out of the all the sets of mudguards i have had, the 99p store ones have lasted the longest and suffered the most abuse

There's 2 points to your question really.

The first is that yes, there are air holes at the front of your shoes. About September I put a tiny piece of Duck Tape over them. I take it off in about April

The second is that the Duck Tape alone won't help when it's chuffing freezing. There was a thread a few weeks back which will help you which explains all...

Overshoes. keeps your shoes clean aswell, £20-£25 should see you good quality and all you'd ever need.

And gaffer tape to the vents in your shoes.

Then apply a bit of rule 5 to whatever is left........
