Front 'boot' light - Cayman (help!)
Discussion
Anyone know if there is a way of stopping the front boot light from coming on when open, other than removing the bulb? i.e. a method of opening it which doesn't trigger the light, or an auto-switch off after a set amount of time?
At the moment my car is outside and not being used much, so I'm plugging in a ctek conditioner as and when I can, but due to the nature of the setup, have to leave the front boot slightly open to feed the power cable through (too thick to close completely).
I can figure out whether the bulb being on and battery conditioner plugged in is actually helping the battery, or merely powering the light!!!!!

Does it have its own fuse?
I have a bad track record with Caymans and interior lights. I was on the Elan Valley mountain road near my home with mine one night and pulled over to take some photographs of the stars, as soon as I stopped the interior lights came on and being so dark up there meant it was impossible to see anything outside. Somehow I forgot to apply the handbrake and I could only tell I was moving when I hit a huge lump of grass a good 25ft from where I'd parked.
Never did find how to keep them off.

Alternatively get the 2.5m comfort lead extension which is what I use now and no problems closing the boot fully and leaving the car locked and alarmed

I was just going to say I've used the screwdriver method. Don't like doing it because some force is required, but at least now I know the car is getting the full charge.
sootyvrs, yep, it was me in discussion with you on that thread; I can't use the extender at this stage because then I'd need to leave a power supply outside, where as at the moment it is stored in the front boot with the charger.
All this removing the car cover and plugging in a few days a week (during the day only because I live in the countryside and the cable would get chewed by badgers!) is a bit of a PITA, but hopefully we'll have some dry days soon and I can take the car on a decent run...hasn't been used in 3 weeks now!!!
