Car is back.......
Discussion
Hopefully it'll be dry (ish) and the Bib's are to busy having xmas parties as I roar down the M1/A1 home..... missed the old girl, but hopefully she'll be more enjoyable
enlarged the plenum and diff AFM, general tune up (not remapped as apparently running really well) and service, Gaz Monotubes all round (blew the valving on the fronts
of my original Gaz shocks when doing a Duke's of Hazzard style flying through air and landing with a big bump
), and had the Diff rebuilt ... so all in all the mechanics of the car have now been fully rebuilt and/or replaced in my ownership...

Plenty use John Reid of Grantura Engineering, Blackpool. He is ex TVR. Did mine for me.http://www.readmanracing.co.uk/index.php
Well the "old bus" made it home spectaculary well.... 4 things very noticable things:-
1) The Toyo R1R's worked fantastic in the rain - I felt safe, no aquaplanning, standing water delt not issues... and I wasn't hanging about either, when I had the chance that was
2) The Gaz Monotubes ... I think contributed to the above, but such a more comforatble ride then my old Gaz'z ... no crashing over bumps etc... I might go get some fillings now, as previously would of been a waste of money
3) Enlarged plenum entry and butterfly - will what can I say but WOW... throttle response, and pick up are fantastic.
4) How s
te the road surface is on the M6 - had to drive v slowly on M6 as kept misting up.... but had to avoid pot holes etc, the wearing course is just disintegrating.
Well Dom seems to have sorted out my poor running issues which manifested at the Growl, and ruined my journey home (Matt Poxon will vouch for that)..... not sure if I have any more power or torque, but it diff feels livelier
In the end the diff wasn't rebuilt, but the pre-tensions (I think that's what I was told) were adjusted which has got ride of the clonking, and now the LSD is working properly which it wasn't previously.
As the car wasn't remapped when the enlarged plenum was added, Dom set/balanced every thing up so it was working just dandy,... the original AFM stayed in the end as well.
Other minor works done incl brake hoses, stepper motor issues and minor oil leak which included sorting out my sump which has taken a big impact from a landing after I thaught I was in the Duke's of Hazzard and went flying through the air.
Bring on some goood weather, albeit after yesterday's performance the rain ain't an issue either
