Racing rims and tires for Porky 993

I'm looking for Racing rims and tires for a stock 993.
Anybody got an idea what/where to buy.
I've been looking at the BBS 3 parts magnesium but they are not cheap

How big wheels can I fit on a stock 993?

std narrow body, 18 x 10 on rear...8.5 x 10 front

tyres 265 rear...235 front......suspension set up will determine if you need to roll the wings to help.

You need to fit the extra steering support bracket (£35) if you are going to fit 18" on a pre '96 993.

If you email someone from www.bbs-ag.com (they speak english),they will give you the price for BBS wheels if you tell them what car its for. I recently got some magnesium centres for my BBS wheels this way, and they were a lot cheaper than anywhere else I found. You might be able to avoid VAT if you pick them up yourself (although they are located not far from the Swiss boarder which is a reasonable trek but could be combined with a Nurburg and Spa trip to try out). I wouldn't go for mag centres unless weight is v important to you, as the mag centres do eventually crack (£500 each to replace). The Aluminum ones are probably a better bet. Also they only come in gold, so you have spray them the colour of you desire.

Best road legal track tyres for lap times are the Pilot Sport Cup tyres, but the Corsa and Dunlop SP Sport aren't bad. Can't speak for the Corsas, but the Dunlops have less utimate grip than the Cups and are consequently more progressive on the limit. You get the best turn in and front end grip/feel with the Cups too, but the Dunlops have a convincing road legal looking tread pattern if plod stops you and are better at dispursing deep water. I would say the cups have better wet grip than the Dunlops (if there is no standing water).
