Numpty Rear Shock Question

Have old Mount Vision, considering swapping rear shock for one with lock out. Shock is 170mm from pivot to pivot total length is about 190mm, but the ones I see listed are max 7.875 whic I assume is inches? Am I taking wrong measure?

Shocks are measured by eye to eye length and stoke. Both need to match your frame - and yes they are often quoted in inches!

If it helps my 2004 Marin east peak takes a shock as below.

6.5" (165mm) eye to eye length
1.5" (38mm) stroke
