About to put our 2 owner from new Peugeot 306 up for sale, but do we put it up now or wait 'til spring?
Any one any reasoned thoughts?

Nobody has money this time of year. They've all spent it on Christmas presents.

Absolute best time to sell is when it has a fresh MOT. (More important the older the car is)

Full MoT now, just needs a wash and polish and a tweek and it'd be a good car for someone.
Hdi =50mpg and loads of torque.
Guess I'll run it around until february along with the rest of the fleet on the driveway, then try then.
If someone needs a car they need a car no matter what time of year but yes, no money about at the minute and every bodies minds are on Christmas

As has been said, not now. I know from selling my Jag yesterday. I took a hit but it will be a no hassle transaction and I start the year where I want to be car wise.

I sold my Maserati on Friday. Got a good price for it. So, in my limited experience if I was the OP, I'd try to sell it now

No, put it up now. Use free adverts (gumtree, card in shop etc) if need be. Yes it's not the best time now but you could sell it within a day - but you'll never know if you don't advertise it. There's no point in waiting IMO.

Well, it's now February and a few free ads later no takers, maybe the price was too high...
So looking through PH classifieds, Autotrader and ebay there seems to be a big disparity between prices.
With PH & Autotrader being higher than the Completed Sales on ebay.
Does anyone look at Autotrader anymore, must admit I tend to go to Ebay (or Car & Classic/PH for anything of interest).
Autotrader & PH have a fixed price but I cannot fully work out what a "Classified" on ebay would cost.

which 306 is it ? I've always found that boring cars sell well in the local paper.

Can you post a link to the advert or PM me it or something? I am toying with the idea of a 306 derv as a runabout. I'm afraid I can't commit but if things play out well at work I may be in a position to make you an offer.

If people think there's a marked upturn in second hand average cars from febuary to April they haven't got a clue. Porsche 911GT3rs perhaps, derv pug? No likely.

Market now, you simply have longer to find that one person who will buy it.

I paid £15 for an eBay classified advert. No other fees just the one off advert fee.
