2008 ML - Electrical Problem?

Hi,

New to PH as a proper member but been reading on it for years!!

Basically I have a 2008 ML320 CDI and on friday when I locked it to go back into the office I noticed that on the driver side headlight the bigger of the two indicators stayed on constant. After playing with it it went off, but then came back on again after about 20 seconds of locking the car. I took it to a merc specialist for a quick look and he said he'd never seen something like that, messed about it for a hour and a half, diagnostics through up nothing, he put it down to the fuse board under the bonnet being faulty? I'm no technician but Im unsure how this can be! Has anyone else had this problem or know of anyone that did....and a solution?

Now the side lights won't go off.....
From research the "Sam" unit must be away.....can these be fixed or is it a stealer only part??
