Merry christmas all! My parents have the above TV which has just turned 6 years old. The last few months it's developed a fault where with it switched on, the screen stays black whilst the sound plays. Even if you switch it on and off it does nothing until about 5 minutes when the screen will come on as normal. Would this be a faulty board and if so how much would this cost to repair? They thought about a TV but I don't see 6 years as old, plus it has a great picture

Sadly not much is made these days to have a shelf life of more than 18 months (12 if your lucky), I would guess the cost to repair will be as much if not more than the cost to replace, with the tv being 6 years old if they did have it repaired they would be extremely lucky for it to last much longer.
