Car previously declared as scrapped - implications?
Discussion
Seen a car for sale that was declared as scrapped 10 or so years ago. Was put back on the road and has been MOT'd every year since. I just wondered if there are any implications eg difficulty finding insurance? Or whether because now it's back on the road it's treated the same as a car that was never scrapped in the first place.

Don't know if the rules have changed now but about 10 years ago I bought a car from a breakers and applied to DVLA for a replacement V5 which I received. No mention on the document about having been scrappped, but if it was written off by insurance that would show up on HPI.
I only wanted the car as a donor for parts but needed the donor to exist for the totting up of points for a kit build and never tried to put it back on the road, but did have to SORN it.
