Castrol GTX offer at Asda
Discussion
All, after seeing the offer for Castrol GTX oil (semi-synth) 4l for £12 - would it be ok for use in my 1987 Porsche 924s?
I know that its not the "Castrol edge brand" as I've been using to top up to date but would it be ok?
Car does about 5k miles a year - mixed driving - Planning on 3k mile oil changes from now (home serviced with the aid of my new xmas tool kit and axle stands)
Oil pressure generally shows as between 4 and 5 on the gauge - quite high?
Will this stuff do the job? I'll stick with the 10w/40 as is currently?

924S doesn't need even need semi synth, let alone synth. Any 10W/40 or heavier grade will be fine. My 944 ran on Vavoline VR1 Turbo which is mineral 15W/50. Great oil pressure & good protection. In fact I have a load of it here having sold my 944. If you're in Kent we can do a deal?
That sounds good, logistics considered...Ping me a PM and we'll sort something out?
