My 04 Mercedes CL600 suffered the dreaded ABC hydraulic suspension failure last week. Recovered it to my local dealer who diagnosed split main hydraulic line. Quoted me new pipe at 300£, 120£ worth of fluid and over 600£ labour to change it (engine needs lifting off mounts - it's a mare of a job)

Was expecting a bill of over 1500£ which is not what I wanted before Xmas!

But no, I mentioned that I had soe service history showing that the car had previously had a repair to this system (not uncommon this model) with previous owner. My dealer checked this out and it turns out the same part was replaced 18 months ago!!

Suffice to say that when I picked up the car, my total repair bill came to 0.00£!! All charged to Mercedes warranty as part should not have failed again after 18 months!

Lovely - thank you Mercedes. Not all dealers are robbing gits!!,!

Brake discs shouldn't rust to fk after 2 years on a new Merc. But they did. And I was charged for replacing them. (+ pads).

You couldn't have used them much if they corroded that badly to require changing.

You think Mercedes make their own discs?
