Currently driving a Courtesy Tuscan.

Playing around with the display I managed to bring up MAX values

max speed 203mph.....

It's a 4.0l tuscan not S but dont know much else about it

Max revs 8.something K would seem to support this speed

eeeeeeeeeeK, wasn't me for sure

Mine was reading 204 when I got it. Not had it past 180 yet myself (issue with bottle, not performance). Chances are it's a misreading, though... the number of times I get a sudden flash on the change up lights, etc. Think my max revs is reading 9000-odd, and there's no way I've got within 2000 of that since the rebuild when I cleared the stats.

I thought they were the MAX possible displayed values not actual values.

Reset the data (hold down the fog light or whatever for 5 seconds once in that mode), and see! Current top reading on mine is now about 114 (that's all I've done since the rebuild).

Hold down the left-hand button on the pod (fog light?) and the twiddly knob on the right (mode change), and it'll go into configuration mode after a few seconds. Don't do it while you're driving, or you'll blind yourself when all the shift lamps come on full at you!

just done it, learn something new everyday.

Not a bad way of checking when you are buying secondhand, so did yours really go to 9K revs?

Since last resetting it, I've hit the red light twice, and that's been set at 5500 recently (still only 1500 miles since rebuild). I certainly didn't keep my foot planted for another 2500-3000 revs beyond that, but it was reading some crazy number. That'll tie up with one of the diagnostic codes & flickers of change up lights, I'm sure.

Obviously you can adjust when the various 'shift-up' lights illuminate but just where is the real 'red line', how far can you / should you take these engines?

Sorry mate - haven't got a decent answer... I just ignore it (They only flash for a fraction of a second on mine).

Thinking about what must be happening with the electronics: For it to go out when you tap it sounds very much like a bad connection. In my case, I'm guessing it's more of a sensor issue, but that could also be a connection thing (not convinced, mind).

Mine says 207.

I should say though that the speedo has been off the car to correct several malfunctions. One of them a habit of showing 197 mph whilst stationary at the lights!
