Whilst on holiday I read All Corvettes are Red again. This time from a different angle as first time I neither had nor planned to have a C5.

One of the final design sign offs included a drinks tray - it was an issue because you could drive and smoke, drive and drink, but not drive and smoke and drink.

Dont recall seeing one in my car so idle curioisty made we wonder what happened to it. Anmyone know?

Being a two seater, it meant the waiter to hold the drinks tray took up too much space in the car.

Ask Vettheadracer. He has the optional outside mounted drinks tray. Said it was some sort of aid to downforce over the rear end. Maybe he was talking about the effect the consumption of alchohol stood on the drinks tray would have on those gathered around his rear end

Meanwhile, roll on the ashtrayless car. At least the tw*ts who flick everything out the window anyway would have an excuse although putting the fag out on their heads strikes me as being the best policy.

Are you listening Cliffy - if you follow Mr. ZR1427, you are guaranteed a dog end up the radiator, not to mention the wrapper off his fag packet, chewing gum and anything else he can torpedo out of his window. Plexiglass side windows should sort him out though.

Thanks guys that explains it then Personally I suspect it was vital part of the mass reduction program, those tinnies can weigh a lot.
