More than half of the road closed off with kerbs both sides and bollards. Its IMPOSSIBLE for my car to get through without putting the mirrors in, and there's less than a hairs width on both sides of the kerb for my car to get through without wrecking the alloys.

Surely a speed bump would be far cheaper?

How's a van meant to get down there? Or a police van, ambulance or fire appliance for that matter?

To stop naughty lorry drivers cutting through residential areas.

A NIMBY lives in that street, and has moaned to the council about lorries passing their house.

HTH.

I thought so. The c**ts.

But seriously? The last time I went through it was on the way back from having my wheels refurbed ironically.

fkers. So now everyone with a remotely wide track on their car has to suffer from fked alloys and smashed wing mirrors frown

The amount of paint on those bollards was almost comical.

I think through the gate after the marked "FIRE" section. Looks to be a road calming measure to stop heavy vehicles going over the bridge over the railway. I wonder if that gate is padlocked?!

It looks as though that barrier allows for access to slightly wider vehicles? Would emergency services be able to open it?

Probably. Either by ramming or by stopping and a crew member faffing around for a key, getting out of the vehicle and unlocking the padlock...

....or reaching for the bolt croppers carried on every fire engine.

Still a bit of a pain in the arse though.

Must be reasoning behind it right enough, it's not like any local councils to come up with daft ideas now is it.

On the bridge. That'd stop HGVs going over it.

iirc all of those padlocks have the same key.
