DVLA uselessness

About a month ago I sent my V5 off to those wonderful people at the DVLA to notify them of a change of address - sure enough, in due course I received my funky new style V5 with my new details on. Now, the old address is my parents house, so I pop round there from time to time. Been back there tonight to avail myself of the Sky Sports facilities, only to find another new style V5 with a booklet explaining it's part of their scheme to phase out the old style document, so I now have two V5s for the same car, both in my name but at different addresses.

I'm not sure whether to be angry about this or not? Were a duplicate V5 to get into the wrong hands, surely I'd be open to cloning, as someone could get a new set of plates made for an identical car using the incorrect address V5 as proof of ownership. I'm lucky in this instance that the old address is my parents and not some lowlife car cloner. It's not as if the documents have simply crossed in the post either, as I've had the new address version for several weeks now.

Should I forget all about it or ask them what exactly they're playing at?

I would say you would need to make sure the DVLA have the right details for the car etc.

I am still trying to sort the problem I am having with them over my old car (which was scrapped in January). Knowing the incompetant feckwits the DVLA seem to be able to pull of the streets in droves and employ them, they probably CHANGED the details BACK to you parents house
