Any Mk1 1.4 Focus owners?

I was just wondering if I was having problems with my car or if this normal.

Mpg with my very light driving, of mixed motorway and town, I just about get 30 mpg, we're talking about 50 miles to quarter of a tank. Surely this is a bit much?

Also this has been confusing me a bit recently, but some mornings the car feels very sluggish, whilst other mornings it feels fine, these are very similar temperature days, so could both of these issues by any chance be down to some sort of faulty sensor?

200 miles per tank

I can get 400+ from my 1.6 regularly, although I have seen it under 28mpg

On a long journey though I'm so far on 220 on half a tank, did 154 motorway miles on a quater of a tank

Don't go by the fuel guage, it doesn't seem particularly linear. I tend to get 60-70 miles before it starts to move, then the next quarter goes in about 40 miles.

Wait until you used a few full tanks then work out an average.

My 1.6 will do anything between 320-500 miles, depending on the type of driving i'm doing.
