Ski Goggle Help

I'm going skiing for the first time in 2013 and will need some goggles.
The problem is I wear glasses and do not want to fork out a small fortune one something I may use once. Should I get some goggles that fit over my glasses for low light conditions and wear my prescription sunglasses if the sun shines?
Please excuse my ignorance and educate me.
