Quite. What with the long lull between series's of Top Gear, good motoring content isn't exactly widely available. I find the Chris Harris video's interesting and well worth a watch. However there seem to be enough people on here who seem to hate him so much, they have to post snarky criticism at him and anyone who comments positively on the stuff he puts out. I'd never heard his name till I read it on here sometime ago, I've never read a whole article or watched a full video of his because I know they wont interest me, actually I rarely click on any RE: posts for the same reason. I understand what you're saying regarding fawning but if people follow him & his videos & get enjoyment then good luck to them & I reckon there's no harm in it. smartphone hater said:

He seems to write a lot of the annoying 'Tell me I'm wrong' articles which remind me of that Daily Mail woman who writes stupid articles just to get a reaction. Will check out his videos now!

I have no idea if he was famous before PH or not. You normally don't need to to see the author's name of a Harris RE: thread, they'll normally be titled Harris did this or Harris reviews something or Harris blows smoke, you get the drift. RE: threads normally don't interest me though whoever the author but I know they are very popular with some. Each to their own & all that. Was he famous before PH? Chris Harris is great at what he does & is a genuine enthusiast & I will admit I enjoy all his videos, I will always remember him taking his own new m3 to the nurburgring when he worked for autocar & giving it the beans barely run in, fair play!
That was a good video'there's some people in porsches that wont take them out because its wet, and there is a bloke in a C type thats worth about as much as a stately home!'
