My old Discovery is due for it's annual MOT, unfortunately following starting problems, a repair needed to be carried out to the car’s electronic circuit board, this resulting in the ABS light now intermittently coming on.
What I wanted to know is if the ABS light was part of a MOT, and if so, would it assist a successful MOT result, by extinguishing the light, through the removal of the bulb or the ABS light relay.

MOT includes a check on ABS light, it needs to light to prove it's working when ignition turned on and go out during normal running. So removal will be a failWhat I wanted to know is if the ABS light was part of a MOT, and if so, would it assist a successful MOT result, by extinguishing the light, through the removal of the bulb or the ABS light relay.
If the ABS light doesn't do what the MOT printout says it should then it will fail.
You either fix it or remove pretty much EVERYTHING to do with the ABS. That would be a modification that your insurance co would need to be informed of & they may refuse to insure the car.
