I am trying to arrange a villa holiday for May, 8 adults, 3 children under 4.

Has anyone got any recommendations? Ideally walking distance to places for the kids/beach but I realize we may have to drive.

Again ideally short flight time, thinking of Menorca etc.

Would like 4* plus type villa, with private pool etc, we have a fairly decent budget.

Not mine however we do have a villa on the same development, very nice, no riffraff

Most villas handled by villas and vacations are owned by Brits and tend to be of a decent standard, by all means use my name as a recommendation if you want

Have fun

Have a look at Pollensa, Mallorca. It is a truly lovely place and less than a 10 minute drive to the beach at Puerto Pollensa / Llenare. We often choose Pollensa because, despite being a quick hop in the car to get to the beach, it has a much nicer (IMO) evening ambiance centred around the Placa Major than Puerto Pollensa, which has many, many restaurants that are OK, but quite toppy due to being on the seafront.

One thing to be aware of is that many villas in Mallorca / Menorca don't have heated pools, so the water may be a tad nippy in May if they haven't had a few good, warm weeks to heat them up.

We often use Villa Plus, who have a good selection of quality villas at reasonableish prices.

I used James villas earlier this year for a last minute break to fuerturventura (sp) for the first time.

Was very impressed with the whole process, villa was excellent, and the service was superb. Will definitely use again

we love Pollenca and Puerto Pollenca.
You really can't go wrong here with small kids.
Try to either stay on the Pine Walks if you prefer to be near the beach or in Pollenca in short walking distance to the Old town Square.
Playe Mar is a good family Hotel and I think the llla D'Or has holiday apartments.
You'll find me here if my numbers ever come up!
Good luck

The Villa Agency are great for Portugal. We have always had lovely places from them, many have heated pools etc.

Have a look at St Stephanos in North East Corfu for a great location. Agni travel, James Villas and Meon Villas all go there.

Nissaki, Corfu.

Possibility for a large party? http://www.agnitravel.com/Travel/Corfu/Alexia_-_Ni...

Maybe not 4 star though.

Look at www.villarenters.com - unlike most other villa letting sites, you pay them, not the owner, you can pay by credit card and get the associated protection, they have an ebay style feedback system and I believe are owned by the Daily Mail, so part of a large group.

Love the idea of having a private boat, moored on you private beach at the bottom of your garden !! Only £1200 per week as well, for up to 10 guests in May.
