Brabus D6 E Class

Anything in particular to watch out for when buying one of these?

Hi

This is basically a W211 320 CDI with changes:

(1) Brabus Xpower D6 chip which is only warranted to 60K miles and so should be removed.
(2) I think it is a Comand NTG 2.5 head unit in a 2007 car - just make sure that it all works.
(3) ICE - no comment
(4) Check to see if it has air suspension. If yes check compressor units and hoses. If not then check springs on those rims and tyres the springs need to be new otherwise its ~£600 to replace front and rear.
(5) Cannot see if rims are Brabus or not or whether seller has original Merc rims - always good to have.

As a starting point get the seller to provide the Data Card and then you can tick off all the standard and factory fitted options listed in the advert against the Data Card.

Basically when it comes to buying Mercs I have a simple rule - dont add and always replace like for like. Mercs are complicated and when they go wrong they can take an age to find out the cause.

That colour looks like flint grey!

If it's just on a standard E class and has springs (Assuming sport springs are not more than Avantgarde srpings) then I doubt it's as much as £600, even at MB, and they certainly won't be near replacing at that mileage. £60 a corner plus labour.

I do like that with those wheels. Totally transforms the car!
I'd say that is 100% genuine mileage judging by the immaculate drivers seat. (Assuming it's original)

After years in BMWs, Audis etc. including M cars and S cars I went to an E320cdi estate with the Brabus D6.

Hand on heart best car I have ever owned, kept it two years and sold it for a new E350cdi estate, big mistake, the W211 is a far nicer car all round.

That looks superb, really decent sound system, upgraded NTG2.5 nav system and it has the D6 box on already.

If it was an estate I would buy it today.

Best colour as well that grey, looks very contemporary.
