Just clearing out some papers and found two £10 vouchers for use in the Porsche shop (within the OPC) that I was given at the Boxster launch evenings. They expire in April 2013. Any ideas what I should buy, or does anyone have a price list?

PS - Can only use one £10 voucher per transaction.

You'll probably pick up a key lanyard or baseball cap for close to that. Full range here: http://shop1.porsche.com/uk/

It's Porsche, not Lidl. What did you expect? wink

I should add that I have bought a few things from there and they go to serious effort with premium packaging a la Apple.

Maybe so, but I'm sure nearly everything they sell could be purchased for a tenth of the price, just without the badge and fancy packaging. The battery conditioner being one I came across recently.

I mean £15 for a lanyard or keyring, wow!!!!!

Indeed. They sell quartz watches for over a grand don't they! It's not even funny.

The most useless item must be the centre lock wine bottle stopper.

Well, it is in my house - would never get used. drink

Hopefully it's fit for purpose, unlike the real thing.

I've got one. It slips off the bottle top, really not well-designed at all. No recalls outstanding on it, though.

If you have be doing any wine tasting days with it, you have probably worn it out and the hub will need replacing.

It was only meant for the odd glass of wine, not for serious drinkers.

Looks like its socks, and as they are only £6 a pair you gift wrap them, an additional £4 smile
Or maybe a £9 ice cube tray?

Anything to wear whilst driving it would just remind me of Joey on Friends; not happening biggrin

I used my voucher to get the 917 Porsche wallet.

Been using it for 9 months now and still seems as good as new, even though it is only plastic.

Edit - Oops just noticed it is £15, must have been given a £20 voucher at the launch I went to.

Of course it could but then they'd be a charity or some form of cooperative. Brand equity and brand value allow them to charge those figures and get away with it. Quite often, they just license the use of the logo to a product of suitable quality and if you're dumb enough to pay the premium, it's their profit. I was giving the MD of my OPC a bit of friendly grief recently as they had a CTEK hanging out of a 991 not a Porsche branded version. He said the Porsche version was faster (joking of course) but I bet there are people who would fall for that.

The voucher is a tantalising hook to get you into the shop and psychologically, people go through things knocking off a tenner and suddenly £105 becomes less than a hundred. Man maths kicks in and the rest is history. Dealers can also measure the success of the vouchers based on redemption. The vouchers probably fund the product evenings through shop sales.

The packaging is excessive and it looks great if you buy it as a gift for someone but I could certainly care less for the premium it incurs. The items I have bought have been really well made but I agree, some of the items are just ridiculously priced relative to what they are.

Chip in a tenner and buy the blue baseball cap would be my recommendation.

I bought that Porky Pig money box. It's never going to have money in it, and it was more than a tenner, but it's cool. The tenner off made enough of a difference for me to get it, and there wasn't anything else I liked at any price.
