I know this has been done before but just in case anybody has anything new to add .
I was told at my recent service that both back wheels were out of shape , i have already bought one new and two second hand spiders and now enough is enough and its time to look for something stronger .
Trouble is i haven't seen anything that comes close to the 18" spider in terms of looks.
I am tempted to go to a 16" wheel as i understand the original Tam design had them and hope to achieve a slightly softer ride but don't want to spoil the look of the car .
Has anybody driven a car with smaller wheels .
Has any body tried having the spiders repaired , not keen but interested in results .
Any ideas of good designs to look at ?
Thanks
Dale

I like quite a few of the wheels on the thread but not as much as the spiders .

Don't know whereabouts in Northants you are but if the Rota Torques are on your potential short list then you are welcome to pop over to Cambridge and see how they look on the Tam, currently in the loft for the winter.

Just put a set of 16" spiders with winter tyres on my Tamora. Too early to tell but felt much more planted on a very wet M1 / M40 / M6 on a run to Manchester and back. Not entirely sure its made the ride any softer (but need to experiment with tyre pressures - currently running 26psi which may be too high). The wheels were sourced via St8six at a very reasonable price.

Otherwise I run 18" SP12s which I rate highly (they have stayed round). Didn't like them at first but they grow on you (and look great in Anthracite). Noticed a set is available on the classifieds (but look pricey to me if you don't want the tyres.

Not a desperately interesting picture but shows the anthracite SP12s.

Here is the car with "original" 16" wheels - I think they look OK and handled fine in the snow yesterday.
