Well after a short stint with a diesel, i am back in the hands of a petrol....

Had many cars in recent years and few have been posted in here..

In last 18 months i have had a fully forged mazda 3 MPS which was bonkers when on song but not the most reliable of cars (probably due to one of the first to push boundaries of engine..)



Then i sold it for something more tame a lovely autodelta'd 147 GTA well autodelta coilovers, lsd, carbon intake.... my second GTA and a lovely example at that.



Then i went for a more family (dog) freindly vehicle with the 335d which the DPF went with first 2 weeks so had to get downpipe and remap to suit which made 362bhp and 525lbs/ft that was insanely fast... but didnt excite..



So now i have a 135i, a car i have admired since it first came out. For many reasons but i love cars that love inconspicuous and can put a few confused faces on other drivers faces.

I took a big risk on the car with purchasing it of a forum member without even seeing it, but after checking the guy out (on facebook?!) and leaving him with a low offer he got back to me just as i was putting in an offer on a much lower spec one i viewed the same weekend...
So after much anticipation my father in law picked it up on his truck and fetched it back the 360 miles with him.
Spec is Space grey with coral leather
heated seats
elec folding mirrors
auto tilt reverse mirror
cruise control
BMW business pack
xenons
Rear parking sensors

Credit to the owner it was exactly as he described with only a 10mm scratch on rear bumper apart from that pretty much immaculate! So happy days.
It drove bang on too no pulling to left/right or flat spots.
First thing to do was give it a good clean as i was expecting it needing a paint correction for the price i paid so gave it a good clean and it doesnt even have the notorious swirl marks so it just got better and better.
Straight away i bought the BMWP front kidney grills and got them fitted.







Second thing i decided to do and probably should have waited was upgrade the discs and pads to BMWP ones mainly so the 6 pot brakes look more macho..

There are many other mods i am tempted to do but i have a BMW warranty so will see how it goes before i take any risks voiding it.

Though many e92 M3 suspention components bolt directly on to stiffen it up more such as arbs and tension arms etc so am tempted to get these too.

But next on list is BMWP carbon rear spoiler.

Lovely car, it genuinely looks great from factory and I imagine it shifts pretty well! Also like your mazda, I think they are fantastic cars and yours sounds like a monster....

That looks lovely, especially the red interior. I'm on my second e82 now and rate them very highly. Surprisingly practical for a coupe of this size too.

Strangely enough our new cars share brake callipers I think-mine's still sitting in the showroom at lloyds until after new year.

Was your previous gta a pearl white one?

Love the BMW, the 1 series really has grown on me since release, esp the coupe!

I wouldn't mind some info on the MPS myself, got one which is totally standard and want to know what I can expect to get out of it...

Dog gets shoehorned in the back so its all good...

My friend does have an amazing garage tbh everything is pristine, and has just bought all the tracking equipment too, as the local garages seemingly havent a clue how to square a car up....

Mazda was running around 360bhp and 410lbs/ft at its peak as turbo needed upgraded tbh and was on bilstein b16 coilovers so was pretty good fun.

Driving wise it feels very much like a big N/A lump tbh, and although i was a bit wary about the weight of the car, but it feels amazingly nimble compared to the 335d which as far as i know is only 100kg more? It feels very much like the gta on coilovers in weight/direction and power delivery.. but its very early days need to learn the car and not had chance to test it due to hangovers, ice and work!
However did take it up to moffat and across to selkirk for a run yesterday but there was serious amounts of water on the roads so car was squirming a bit too much to enjoy it.
Its still too early to give any real comparisons and was hoping to go for a few jaunts while i am off over christmas but this rain is not letting off.
A JB4 and nice exhaust transforms the car from a very conservative quick car to a bit of a riot ... (that is all i am saying)

laurasotherhalf I saw your other thread on what you have bought. Suprised tbh i have always said the only mini i would ever have would be the GP, love the concept of it. And the new one seems just as special as the last. However i would have liked to see it push 230bhp and maybe 1100kg from factory.... Still awesome fun i bet!!
Not consider a megane 265/trophy?
Oh and yeah i had a white one too

08-10 were twin turbo, 2011-2013 were single turbo engines.

As amir has said the change over to single turbo (n55) from twin (n54) was sometime in 2010.

N54 being asseemingly more tuneable but also more parts that fail..

Loved that car when you had it, remember you using the work car park to turn to go into town & it sounded bloody great

There's a bit of craic re the weight of the mini & everyone thinks it might well be a little more powerful & a little less weight than they say
