The drivers side door handle on my turbo no longer operates the latch, I'm assuming that the link between the handle and the door is borked. Has anyone had this before and can give a guide as to what parts are needed, as I would rather get the parts on order before i take the door apart!.

On the plus side, when this happened and with the alarm blaring (i've been using the key to get access as the blipper has packed up) so opened car, could not get in and then alarm went off. In desperation I put a new battery in the blipper and it started working!

Cant help you as to what parts are needed, but I can advise you to check that after the repair has been made to ensure that the door lock operates correctly with the key afterwards. If it doesn`t and the car goes into sleep mode, getting in becomes a real pain, especially if the wire for the bonnet release isn`t where it should be.

Yes this happened to me recently, the window still drops but the handle does not operate the latch, there is a small steel rod, connects both that had rusted and snapped, Mike at Sports & Classic fabricated a new rod which saved me buying a a whole new door handle mechanism.
