leaving the baby on the road

I don't think I'm going to be able to get a garage for my baby.

Any handy hints for keeping her in good condition while parked on the road?

I have a leven hood which is fab, any other jolly ideas?

Mine has been parked on the road for the past 2 months and has been clobbered 4 times, the last of which left a nice smear of red paint down the side and a nasty scratch

Along with some chav tipping a can of coke/beer over the hood and a few grazes from people parking in front/behind.

Am currently on the lookout for a garage... I have a heavy duty cover but sometimes it's just not practical to put it on and take off 5 times a day. My advice is find a nearby lock-up and store her there.

My Griffith was parked on my drive and some twat tried to get the TVR badge off (it's screwed on), resulting in a deep gouge approximately six inches long and so the need for a front nose respray.

i bravely left mine on the road for a couple of weeks as the drive was full & some c *nt kicked the wingmirror off. leave a big dog in it with the roof off.

Parked mine on road for 6 months, additional security is the way to go, I bought a removable steering wheel and that deters most I think.

I would be gutted if sumone scratched my car. Left in sum real dodgy places "touching plenty of wood" no damage yet!...

Ive heard about custom car covers for TVR, would be interested in hearing if there worth while if anyone uses one..Need to start thinking about winter preparation..will be with us before we know!

thw Leven hood I uzse has been fantastic, covers the hood only, clips round the mirrors and locks in teh boot/bonnet, and stops water ingressing into the front air vents too.

Easy peasy to fit.

Don't count on it. I had to park mine on the street in a leafy suffolk village, and someone keyed it.

Have a look at classicadditions.com. I use their heavy duty full cover and it fits and works well, the only snag is you can't put it on when the car's wet.

i'd say the cover is asking for trouble. it screams "hey chav, I love my car so please damage it". i love england!

iirc i think a PHer left a car cover on their chimaera so someone kindly applied glue to cover so that the wind wouldn't blow it away...

Maybe I should count my lucky stars. Parked on shi**y side roads in London for the last 14 months, have a leven hood cover. Never had a major problem (touch wood). Only damage was when i first got the car and didn't know the length - I pushed into the back of another car when parking, other than that, a little scrape on front and back bumper - but i think that is almost to be expected before buying if you know you are parking on the street. Only advice, park at the end of the row - this way, others can only park on side of you and it reduces the chance of a scrape.

Hi,
I had mine parked on the road for a year:
Wing Mirror kicked off
Brick throught the drivers side window
Multiple scratches including key all the way down 3 panels just after I had it resprayed
Various incidents of a*se holes pouring milkshakes etc all over the hood.

I've finally been beaten and the car is now locked in my parents garage waiting to be sold.

I find it soul destroying to be forced into selling a car, that I have spent years aspiring to own, by a bunch of jealous pr*cks.
