Hi all,
That does look like an excellent 350
If anyone needs me to "pop across" and have a look at it, let me know, as Mansfield is only 15 miles away from me.
I may not be an expert on wedges, but having owned one for the last 8 months, I've got a pretty damn good idea as to what I'm looking at and can always post pics etc, of any areas of concern.
Just send me a mail via here and we'll sort it out somehow.

Hope every one is having a great festive period?

Cheers for now

I'd at least want the original wheels included for that sort of money - or an adjustment to buy some.

Hi Guy's

New member signing in. I was just looking at doing an intro post when I saw this post.

I am the new owner of this car. I have wanted a Wedge for as long as I can remember. Went to look at this today with the view of this will probably stop me from wanting one. well that went well its now in my garage.

Really hope I've done the right thing. But first impressions are BRILLIANT! It sounds amazing but I don't need to tell you Guys how they sound.

The dealer/owner Steve was great with some very nice toys in his garage.

Best of all and totally unexpected was a car cover and a complete set of brand new front vented disc brakes, calipers and pads included. Sure these must be worth a few quid and I'll be going on the car as soon as I calm the Wife down with some decorating:-).

My mate drove it home 60 miles(as said didn't intended to buy or would have took the trailer) It didn't miss a beat and Ade was still grinning like a maniac when we got back. Don't think the neighbours were impressed ha ha rumble, rumble.

Bad bits. Slight oil leak top of engine? Lights really slam down when turned off? That's about it for now but I am well aware what TVR ownership may mean. But at the minute I'm loving it.

Was thinking of selling the plate if I bought the car as I've never had a private plate. But I must admit I really like it now it's here. Would love to meet up with any like minded owners in Staffs area.

Yatesy.

Welcome Yatesy.

Looks a nice wedge that that. Not many cars, sports cars or not can carry the yellow but a wedge does it with ease.

Hope you enjoy it, and have many, many loud miles in the beast.

Welcome to the club Karl. You have definitely done the right thing by buying a Wedge. Congratulations. It looks like a very nice car. We all know yellow is the best colour for these cars, as that is what mine is. If you click on my forum name you'll see a picture of it. Wedges are addictive, this one is my third, a change back from a Chimera. Wedges are reasonably easy to work on at home, sound good and has maximum grin factor. I am sure everyone here will advise you on anything you ever need to know about its maintenance. Like you, when I bought my first wedge years ago, I only went to look at it and ended up buying it, but I haven't looked back. Like I say its addictive. All the best. Enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome Gents (seriously nice looking cars Rob and Tony)

I sold my Westfield Yesterday and was on a really downer until I drove this. Fingers crossed for a dry day tomorrow. On the phone to Adrian Flux at 09:00 to make it official.

Is it worth joining the owners cub?

Cheers Karl.

Hi Karl

Nice car, the number plate is worth between £500 to £800!

There are a few TVR events around during the year you can go to!
I will be posting up a diary of events wedgers are attending during the year tomorrow or on New Years day!

The two obvious events are Big Bad Wedge Fest on Sat 13th July and the Rust Nail Run in September!

With regard to the TVR Car Club, some people get a lot from being members while a lot will not join it!
All I can say its you choice but the only way to see if you like it is to join for a year a see if its for you or not!

Thanks Paul

I didn't see this one. The reason I looked at the car today was the number plate. I recognised it from an eBay listing from around July this year. The Guy selling it then sent me some photos which I still have. But before I got the chance to view it ended.

I would have loved to get it then as I'm pretty sure it didnt go for much over £3-3.5k but I'm pretty happy with what I got it for as I like to barter.;-) especially with the surprise freebies.

Cheers Karl.

Re the wheels, cerbs have a similar but different pcd so if they haven't been remachined then I'd swap back to standard.

Sounds like you haven't got the head light spot; it's just an angle bracket with a piece of rubber atached.

Oh, congratulations with your new purchase.

Just been reading about hub adapters and "wobble nuts" can't say I really like the sound of these. So I guess I need a set of original wheel. Let the search begin.

If anyone has any feedback on where might be the best place to find a good set, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do any of the later model Wedge wheels fit the 350 hubs off set etc?

There's a part set of 3 on Fleabay but I'm pretty sure it will drive better with 4.

Cheers Karl.

Or you could fit a set of OZ wheels, the look of your car would show them off well!

Hi Karl,
Nice purchase.
When I first bough my car, earlier this year, it has a very similar set of damn awful wheels on it frown
It took me a few months of persevering, but in the end I was able to get a set of original old lattice wheels off of the flea.
Be careful of going the cheap and nasty "chinese copy" route from the polish guys on the flea, as by all accounts the wheels they sell are rubbish and then you've still got to put tyres on them anyway.
It's definitely worth keeping an eye on the classifieds on here as well as on "bum tree" & the flea wink
Your car will handle considerably better with the right wheels and will look the part too, look at the difference it made to mine.

I'm not too sure the "girls" made much of a difference, but it was fun checking them out wink

Welcome to both the forum and to TVR wedge ownership thumbup

Mark
