...shouldn't it?

Surely it's bloody dangerous?!

As a racing driver, I prefer driving at night.

I'm faster.

I always use my headlights at night. Helps me see things and others see me.

No so much traffic coming the other way on a race track?

I generally close my eyes whilst driving so it makes no odds to me. (Or the other road users.)

I agree that they help other people see you - often to their visual detriment - but I'm not convinced that headlights help you to see much in front of you.

People should use their fog lights at night, to make it easier to see.

Oh so now you qualify your question to include cars driving the wrong way 'round a track?

Now everyone goes round with their lights on full beam during the day I think it is time cars were fitted with RADAR so everyone knows where everyone else is at night. Or make it compulsory that cars glow in the dark, perhaps even legislate that cars emitt a loud beep every few seconds, like a Bat does only at a frequency we can hear.

Death squads, that's the solution. SUV owners first.

In the last two weeks I have tried the Advanced Drivers technique of only going backwards.

It has had a ruinous effect on my economy but the offset in safety is well worth it I feel.

Ban darkness.
It's the only solution.

Night time safety cameras are the solution. People will stop driving at night once those fines & penalty points start piling up.

You certainly get some right weirdos on the roads at night - perhaps that's just South London.
