I *BELIEVE* they were Vauxhall but the "usual suspects" generally keep 'em in stock but I think they were about £12 each the last time I bought some (which was November 2011)! biggrin

I know the price doubled on them just about everywhere in the latter half of 2011 and my understanding (from Carl Baker who was doing my alarm at the time) is that a main supplier of them discontinued them so now they're in fairly short supply. frown

We used to buy them in bulk bags(25), as no doubt Carl used to, they are not that rare and used on lots of cars including GM, Saab and BMWs just for starters.

Plenty still out there to be had on Ebay if you need some wink

At the time of doing mine he was caught a bit short ... he had run out and had expected to be able to pick them up no problem however as it turned out he was unable to get any from his usual suppliers at short notice so actually ended up using a couple of spares that I had...

Nope - he didn't have any that he could charge me for ... as I said above he actually ran out and wasn't able to source them from his usual suppliers at short notice and so used a couple of spares that I'd sourced previously.

I'd noticed that they'd gone from about £6 to £12 each over the previous couple of months and then when Carl tried to get some for doing my car he couldn't get any at short notice without paying RG / CT prices - I'm sure that if he's had more time to find an alternative source then they could have been found cheaper (after all I'm damn sure that RG/CT are making a healthy markup - they do on pretty much everything else and so they should - they have a business to run).

OK i will try and charge £120 tomorrow for a Land Lord Cert ! they would frog march me to the front door rolleyes

There is a big difference between make a profit and ripping people off ! buying something for £2 and selling for £12 is not fair buisness .. They should be shot !

Perhaps you're just assuming that everyone is just out to screw everyone else ... But I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even plumbers!

What you seem to be missing (or ignoring just so you can bh and moan) is that Carl didn't charge me £12 for a switch - he couldn't get any at short notice and used two switches that I'd sourced... Jeez!

How have you arrived at that conclusion from what has been posted here?

Carl is actually one of the good guys - he told me a great story about the to55er who posts a lot on here (you know who you are!) picking his brain for ages to help get him out of trouble for free, only for said to55er to then post on here he had worked it all out for himself in a desperate bid to try and look clever - how sad is that hehe

RG - Racing Green TVR and CT - Clever Trevor ... No idea what they're charging now but I'm sure they'd be only too happy for you to advise them on their pricing structure...
