Even with new roof covering 3 days of constant rain and I have damp O/S floor, by belt pick up mind, so hair dryer I originally used on my dear old S2 is now warming the area nicely. Considering the amount of water hitting the car recently I'm pretty pleased, before roof re trim water seemed to get everywhere! Moral of the story get a man who knows how to do it, err do it, considering how bad water is for the electrics its money well spent.

Sounds as though it could be worth exploring around the "elephants ear" and the seal at the rear of the window for water ingress.

"elephants ear" ??!! Not sure what your referring to but I think it's coming through from bolts holding seat runners also?, looking at said runners I think it's time to remove them, rust is apparent, presume you just use a good sealant when re building. I'm using the car regularly so it's bound to get in somewhere. No damp on side of carpets so doesn't seem to be tracking down to that area, I'm drying it all out then observe over next few days?!!? Its hard work trying to trace actual source?

Mine is wet on the floor behind both seats, after leaving it out in all weathers for a few days. I thought it must be coming in around the hood, either where the roof meets the targa hoop, or where the velcro is attached, but them that knows seem to think it might be the seat fixings.

With regards the seat runner bolts, its quite simple to remove and mastic in with copious amounts on the underside 'penny' washers.
I also use the silica car litter in 2 (clean) socks under the seats,if they get too wet, they can be dried out on a radiator.
As a daily driver mine stays dry (unless I get caught out in the rain with the roof off).

I didn't know that you could dry out the silica granules ... In that case - as said by the great oracle on the Sky Go advert - I may have to 'have some of it' myself... :-)

Daily driver here, and I take every detour!!! I'm going to replace all the seals around doors hoop and screen for new ones, future prevention etc, after much consideration, felt carpet with hand, I'm sure it's seat/ seat belt fastening points, like a boat, if your hull leaks your fked, had an old Jag that had got very damp, places you'd never imagine had rust form, under dash etc, a dry car, non of this? Agree that if car is out in rain for to long Velcro flap is a suspect point and can drip straight to floor!
