Calling all TVR owners for a response please!
Discussion
Some of you may re-call me seriously considering selling the beast due to work but mostly family commitments, meaning I was finding it very difficult and still do to get the Tiv out for a spin when trying to juggle all other commitments.
Anyway, I decided to keep the Tiv but still find myself spending the usual, loads of money on servicing, insurance etc, but never findind the time to drive and enjoy the car due to those family commitments. And if you do get the chance to have a little tiny bit of time to yourself which is a miracle, the weather will be completely miserable, or the car won't start!!!!!!
What I would like to propose is a new style of meeting up with other owners in order to enjoy our cars and feel that we are getting rewarded for all the hard work that we do to try and keep our toys in the garage.
These meets can be organised by any Tiv owner for the area concerned and all it will be is a shout out on PH at short notice calling all Essex or Herts TIV owners for example for a blast on a week day late at night, once the kids are in bed, the miss us has stopped breaking your B---s because you have been a good lad and done the washing up! We pop the garage open start the beast and simply meet up for a short blast, 1-2 hour meet and blow some Cobb webs. The advantage with calling these meets at 2-3 days notice means we can monitor the weather and try an go out on the dry
nights. In the past I would find any excuse to take the Tiv out so I am sure many of you will not be that bothered were we drive to as long as we have a little drive.
The above obviously is as a result of me trying to run my own 24hr Locksmith Company, and also spend time with the family, then try and find time for other family members, friends if I am lucky, football if I am really lucky and then somewhere amongst all of the above I have to try and find time for the Tiv. Hence why this new style of meets may prove to be convinient for some TVR owners who find themselves in my position! The meets would be for all Tiv owners, the ones with too much time on their hands aswell!!!!!
Please note that I do not intend for these meets to clash with our monthly meets organised by our hard working RO,
simply a new meet that can be on late night week days or very early weekends. The last time I took the Tiv into the West-End of London, Soho etc, etc it was a fantastic drive. You will never have so much fun been stuck in traffic.
Please go easy on me with your comments, but I do look forward to hearing what your thoughts are, good or bad.
May I also take this opportunity to wish you all a super new year full of happiness, health and a little more TVR driving.
