Another "What song is this" thread
Discussion
I hate this threads because I never know the answers but others on here are far more tuneful.
Now I'm stuck on one and to avoid losing what is left of my sanity, it needs identifying and soon.
It starts off a little bit instrumental, maybe a keyboard for nine or ten notes, the first six are ascending notes, the last three go down.. It goes along the lines of "du du du du du du-du du du"... (sing this with the first six notes going up and you might get it!!)
This repeats four times and then the words start except I can't remember any of them. It sounds a little like the chorus to "Working On The Chain Gang" but only a little.
It's a catchy tune, for sure. Example's "Kickstart" reminds me a little of it and I've heard it lots of times at T20 cricket matches for when batsmen are out or boundaries are scored.
Please put me out of my misery and soon, the usual prize of a virtual pint to the winner!

Nah, definitely not that one, remember "Tom Hark" well.I gather from your Example reference that it's fairly recent?
The only thing I can think of is this....

It kind of gives that keyboard sequence in places, don't know if you've only heard soundbites during the cricket?

Example - changed the way you kissed me?

Starts with a keyboard and then goes duh duh duh duh duh duh duh with the note getting higher.

Nope not it either although my son thought it was this one too so thanks.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-H8i38_yks

Thinking it might be a synth rather than a keyboard now. Hell, this is doing my nut in now. Have half of all the world's internet-connected people on the case and still can't fathom it out.

That is a really great shout but incorrect. Nearest yet... the bit at the beginning is quite similar and sounds like the same instrument.Right... How about this?

For those who were still interested, we have a winner... but not someone on here. Went to football today and sung it to a mate who said he'd let me know and by the time I got home, he had posted it on Facebook.
It was "Kids" by MGMT.

It's funny how these always seem so obvious when you get the answer
Glad you got it worked out OP

Thanks.
Daft thing was that I found it once before months back by googling the lyrics that I could hear. The sands of time went by and they faded from memory so when it came to recall, they'd gone. I could have sworn that the song was recent but it looks on Wikipedia that it came out in 2008. I went through a lot of Ministry of Sound stuff on YouTube but I'd never have gone that far back....
