So the girlfriend is looking to swap her 08 plate 1 series convertible for a larger car to fit the dogs in!

So far we have looked at the C30 (too small and they have stopped production now so thats off the list)

The 2 so far she is interested in are
- Nissan Juke
- BMW X1

Budget: MAX £14,000

Any one got or had a Juke or X1 and would like to comment on how good/bad they are?
Any other recommendations?

Stating the sort of obvious, but how about an estate car - gives the dogs plenty of room then, and keeps comfort for the occupants of the car! Should be able to something like a nice 3 series touring or similar for that kind of money? Presumably as it's for a girlfriend practicality goes out of the window somewhat, and fashion / badge are a key part of the equation?

Quashquai (sp?) rather than Juke?

Or a VW Tiguan?

Surely an Impreza Estate is the PH answer? biggrin

Better yet, a Legacy estate, magnificently discrete things.

This - fake off roaders like the Juke and the X1 aren't that roomy. Plus higher to get the dogs in?

The Juke has a tiny boot, take a look. Unless you have jack Russels then look elsewhere.

Some good idea
Quashquai is a decent shout also...

Dog are
1 - Boxer
2 - Westie

Not massive dogs! but still a bit big for a 1 series drop top...

I like the X3 and the Q5, sadly out of the price range!

Try a focus/volvo v50 if the v70 is too big. Just get a proper dog guard and a boot liner.

Caterham 7! thumbup

(Well this is Pistonheads, since when has the OP's criteria stopped people suggesting random totally unsuitable cars that they fancy but would never buy? smile )

An ex of mine used to get her two Boxers in her Mk1 Audi TT, so if they can go in that then sure they'll manage in most things...

yes

Although the answer is obviously a Legacy Estate.
