New Year Wish List

Happy New Year to all.

Bored and ill. So for a bit of fun, banter and no doubt raging arguments, what do we wish for Aston Martin now its got new investors. So for starters:-
1. Investment DAR to sell their sharholding as soon as they can (the redemption on the bonds issued last year are preventing it at the moment).
2. Kill off the Cygnet - it wasn't even a profitable joke
3. Aston / Lagonda to resurrect the SUV. Then sell loads, re-invest profits into 'proper' Astons, just like Porsche
4. Develop a decent manual (although probably paddle shift) gearbox for the new Vanquish
5. AM to go back to its roots and have a perfomance division in the mould of the old Works Service. Allow customers to upgrade their engines etc within the AM fold. BR to used as an AMG offshoot of AM?

So over to you lot for ideas, suggestions and sarky comments.

Ban the use of grey paint and make black leather interiors a capital offence. Even if they have the 'wild & crazeee' silver stitching (which really lifts the interior, oh yes )

And let's hope they come out with an excellent replacement for the Vantage this year. Not as competitor to the 991 (an unwinnable fight) but to be better that the Maserati and Jaguar offerings.

Shame for so many the Scottish Highlands are a big schlep away, there is nothing better in the UK for fabulous roads and scenery as well as enjoying a wee dram in the evening

Well, what can I say? One year in with 8.5k miles in the car, a great bunch of new people met both in and out of the cars, especially in the D & D and learning about a marque that I had never really assumed I would get involved with.

I would like more of the same with maybe some BR tinkering.

Oh and plenty of sunshine!

Can anyone explain the full background to the Cygnet?

Supposedly it is needed to reduce the average engine emissions for the whole AML range, but what conditions or penalties, are being imposed by the European Union? When are the rules being changed, and what size companies are affected?

Presumably Morgan might not be subject to whatever the changes are.

I believe that they have a place in Chobham were the modifications are designed and tested but Yeti is better placed to confirm this.
