Protecting my brand new car, advice welcomed...
Discussion
Pick up the new mini GP this weekend & wondered what everyone would recommend to keep the paintwork looking good.

Things I have in the garage:
Maguires clay bar kit
Autoglym Super resin polish, deep shine polish, the other one with the gold label & HD wax
Don't mind splashing out on a few bits but it would be nice if I could buy it at halfords as I've got a load of cash on a gift card for there.
Don't have a snow foam or those grit guards either.

You can either protect is using a professional detailers service or do it yourself depending on your time/experience
If you choose to DYI it very simply the process would be:
Through Wash (2 bucket method)
Clay the car using the Megs kit you have
Wash again to get rid of residue
At this point you could polish but if paint in decent condition go onto using a IPA (CarPro Eraser) to cleanse the paint work.
Then I would use a sealant such as:
CarPro Cquartz UK - http://www.detailedclean.co.uk/paint-sealants/carp...
or if on a budget AF Power Seal - http://www.detailedclean.co.uk/paint-sealants/auto...
At this point your paints going to be protected well
At periodic intervals when you want to paintwork to pop just apply a thin layer of HD wax on top to give a concours look
Again the above are basic steps and pro's probably have way more
