Thought some might like this, plus it nice to see a car with modern performance stats from a light car other than a lotus...

The Huet Brothers coupe looks fun. A Carbon fibre lightweight styled to look like its from 1954 yet with a very modern Power to weight ratio, the standard car (HB COUPE CLASSIC) has 170bhp with 800kgs to shift, while the hot version (HB coupe Road Racer) has 255bhp from a 2 litre four cyclnder. They were going to go with 6, but a 200kg weight saving swayed them towards the 4 cyclinder.

There is even a trackday version available ,even a racing version coming (From pics Im guessing GT3 Spec)

Sounds rather up our street, Lotus weight, Aston looks (well if youre from 1956), the standard coupe is meant to get to 100kph in under 5secs, and the Road racer in under 4 top end is 155-175.

Limited production in 2014 sadly, but rather nice to see some light cars aimed at car nerd (athough this is a mix for car nerds and the nostalgic to be honest). Classic wil be 67000 euros, while to Road racer will be 78000. It has some more modern features as well

'As standard, all road cars are delivered with the following: a black or cream handcrafted leather interior; dashboard in the colour of the car; climate control/heated seats; a touchscreen entertainment system; heated front and rear windows; driver and passenger airbags; seatbelt tensioners; ABS and ESP; front and rear impact zones; side impact reinforcement in doors; and integrated roll-cage construction.'

Oh and it now has Butterfly doors.

Bugatti won't like that badge one little bit.

Otherwise it looks pretty good.

That looks great. They could lose a lot more weight by binning some of the modern gadgets. Possible enough to justify that 6 cylinder engine.

Oh, will there be an interlock to prevent fuelling while the driver's door / window is open? smile

It has something TVRish about it.

Now, if the price is right...

And half of Pistonheads won't be able to understand why it costs more than a Ford Focus.

Lovely looking thing, but it will probably a a LOT more expensive than a Ginetta G40 once it makes it into the UK, which has similar stats but without most of the luxuries.

If you could really buy one for £50k here, I'd seriously consider it.

It does mention the price in the OP or are you thinking of the Brit tax that's bound to be added?

That looks lovely. It'd be perfect with a nice straight 6 rather than a 4, though.

Looks great.

There are getting to be a few retro styled cars available. All good stuff - practical classics, so to speak.

IMO this one very much relies on build quality. If it's got Aston shutlines, it might have a hope - but if it's got Ginetta / TVR finish, I just can't see anyone forking out 70-80k for one...

Looks great. Forget your 6cyl engine. Why add weight? For what reason, a nice engine note or some 60s throw back nostalgia. Sure it will be expensive, but carbon monocoques are.

Really not seeing the Aston styling. Looks more like a Wiessmann, a ugly Wiessmann. Is it fibre glass or carbon bodied? What's it based on?

It's not just the engine though. Beef that up and you need a stronger gearbox and axle. Once you've done that you need to strengthen the chassis to take the extra forces, and then because of that weight you need to fit wider wheels and bigger brakes.
