Although the rest of use my not have had such spectacular "letting go"'s as that I would love nothing more than to have a year where I don't have to get my tools out and don't have to wait for a man with a flashing orange light on his van so yes, here's to a luckier 2013... biggrin

(Edited to add : Mind you - I may be quizzing you about a bit of gas for myself so maybe I should just be hoping that I don't manage to do the same as you! biggrin )

My 2012 has been relatively uneventful TVR mechanical wise so here's to another in 2013!

Well I worked out the other day coming back from my folks that for 99.5% of the time my 4.0HC is fast enough when you cog it down and get her over 3,500 rpm (she shouts nicely at that too!) so, for the other 0.5% of the time then maybe a little squirt of gas would be appropriate. wink

(...and as it seems that I didn't get caught by the camera van at 83mph the other weekend then I'm happy!)

Its complete madness but don't you just love it, yeah I heard your tyre warm up, blistering start sets you up nicely, what grunt, outrageous stuff, I'll follow your progress with bated breath, goodluck in 2013 got to come along and have a go myself, looks sooo exciting, hated drag strip stuff when I was younger but now can see the purity in it, that and the grip!! Owe and a great thumping Tvr under your arse, yee haa. Hell I'm drunk again, I need to watch that again cos it seemed so crazy quick??? Brilliant work. Happy new year to all tivers everywhere.

Oh God I *NEVER* trust the speedo ... I just use that to scare the st out of people it overreads so much!

Nah - the 83 was indicated on the Road Angel and that ties in within 1mph of the speed reading on my TomTom so I am pretty certain that I was doing dead on 83...

Obviously he was eating doughnuts when I went past. biggrin

Mine easily reads anywhere up to 30 or 40 mph high or low depending on whether I'm accelerating or decelerating (or whether it's raining, sunny, windy, Tuesday, Thursday, Saint George's Day, a Lunar eclipse or whether I'm wearing my / my GF's / no undies)...

In fact about the only use it has (given that the battery on the odometer died two years ago and it resets to 0 miles every time I start the car) is to fill up an unsightly hole in the dash...

It's on the list to get fixed. biggrin
