I remember meeting him at Old Trafford many years ago, he was a true gent.

This is very sad. I always enjoyed his analysis of games and teams. He would bring an insight to many points in a Test. My ear was pressed up to a scratchy old radio listening to his commentary from all over the world.

Dreadful news, but sadly not a surprise. CMJ had been ill for some time, and had been given a terminal prognosis a few months ago.

I grew up listening to his voice and reading his words. As someone once said of another TMS commentator, summers will never be the same.
