Replacement '02 Ford Ka key?
Discussion
My colleague needs to get a new key for her Ka as the spare was stolen last night. She still has her main key. Am I right in thinking there is a transponder in the fob for the immobiliser? The key is one of those ones Ford was using in the '90's - I'm not sure of the name for that type.
Cn anyone suggest a ballpark figure for the cost of a replacement?

Just to clarify, the key has to contain a chip or transponder. It's the Ford Passive Anti-theft System - PATS.
As a very general rule, you need two working keys to be able to code in a further key without equipment.
Remotes are a separate matter and you can programme in a remote yourself. You still need a cut key and a suitable chip to start the car.
