I've had this twice now, I drive to the petrol station running fine, then fill the tank, once its filled I start the car, it runs for a few seconds then stalls, then struggles to restart, once its started it won't idle. After a bit of driving it clears up and goes back to running fine again.

Thinking maybe purge valve issue or fuel pump?

Sounds like the same problem I had, on the way to drop the car at Str8six to have the throttle bodies reconditioned. Not sure if it's related to them but have asked Jason to let me know what he thinks.

I experienced it a couple of years ago but only on the journey up to Str8six since. The fuel pump has been changed.

I will post when I hear.

Creating a vacuum in the tank when full? Had this once before and solved by releasing the fuel filler cap and replacing.

!!! Another suggestion!!!

Could be the carbon canister - located drivers side front wing in/behind headlight hatch.
They fill with vapour ex the tank...the idea being that this condenses and is returned to the inlet side of the engine for combustion.

The fact that the problem presents after re-fuelling suggests that this could be possible cause.
You can drain the carbon canister....but I don't know how to - maybe someone will be along and advise??? I am aware of a couple of folks who've experienced poor running/lack of power/cutting out because of carbon can being 'full'.

Just heard from Jason. It seems that there is a fault with the immobiliser on mine. There is no feed to the fuel pump which could be a fault of one of the immobilisers. Not sure what yet but he thinks he can fix it ready for the MOT at 11am tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I will post when I know more if it helps.

Turned out to be a problem with the inertia switch which isn't grounded properly.
