Ahh lads..

Nice New Years blast in the South Downs this morning.
Flat tyre three miles from home, and a big dent in the Spider, which rendered me stranded.
Tyre had a little tear in it and the tyre weld just left a big pile of foam behind the wheel under the car smile

I've read through a few threads and there are space savers that will fit.. but does anyone actually have a space saver in their car?

I think it was only griff's and chim's that could carry a spare.

I most cases a can of foam will do, you were just unlucky

This is something I am very interested in also, especially for a trip like Le Man's. I have been told It's a jeep / crysler stud pattern.

This happened to me a few months ago, waited an hour for recovery.

The PITA was trying to find a garage to be recovered to that had the tyre I wanted, resulted
In me deciding to buy two new tyres, as they didn't have what I needed.

No way of using the tyre filler as the spider had cut an 8" slit on the inside. Thinking of taking
My spare tyre with me to Spa.

I guess I was definitely unlucky this time..

I suppose it's either carry a space saver and jack and loose some valuable boot space or a few tyre welds and an electric pump.

But it’s the boot space that’s an issue for me – my bike fits in there with some luggage perfectly, which means I don’t have to leave anything on the back seats etc..

I have four cycle weekends in Brussels, Macon, Berlin and Corvara this summer and want to buzz over to them in the Cerbera.

The odds of splitting a tyre a pretty low - this is the first time it's ever happened to me.

So ,maybe just reducing the odds of splitting a tyre, by getting some better alloys, might be a better option..

Oh Aide,

Gutted to hear your news, mate.

Lemme know if you make Brux or Macon this year - would really like to make it over to buy you a bottle beer

At least your tyre didn't shread like this one ...

.... and on the Vulture front.... Lemme know if you decide to replace your Spiders as I am making a collection of them over here for Winter/Track tyres etc..

Happier New Year !

Yikes!
Not that bad in my case, was just pulling off from traffic lights when I hit a pothole.
Beer and perhaps a bite to eat would be great.. smile
Brussels March 29th & 30th then to Spa on 31st early early morning and Macon in July..
I got a quote for SP12's today but want to see if I can get someone that has a set to perhaps let me drive them first..
