?TVR Tuscan problem
Discussion
After some advice please - recently had a full rebuild on my tuscan engine - getting starting problems once the engine has warmed up - cold start is fine but when hot it smells like it is flooding and not managing to fire. awaiting for the guys who built it to offer a solution - one is they are looking at changing the leads between battery and starter motor as they feel they may be breaking down? I have chucked a new battery in anyway and the problem is still there. Any ideas?
Thanks for the prompt response chaps. I am with you on it that I dont think it will solve the problem. They mentioned the change in compression on the engine may have something to do withn it once warmed up as it has been rebuilt (I can compute that but still frustrating)? Great having my Tivvr back and the only place I can take it....... is back home in case I cant get it started
When I had my rebuild done at Str8Six, an uprated starter motor was included.
Still a Bosch part, but output now 1.7KW versus 1.4 KW of the original.
IIRC, Dom at Power advises/includes this change on his rebuilds.
Having said that, I very occasionally, get this flooding problem - but from cold. It does clear with a fairly wide open throttle, and the car runs but exhaust stinks of fuel and gets a lot of black smoke...After that it's fine. Happens once in a blue moon.
