Avis buys Zipcar

Got an email from Zipcar today saying they had reached an agreement with Avis. Sounds like it'll be run under the Zipcar brand for now and there will be no obvious changes (perhaps a chance to increase prices). Reading into it the Avis CEO said they'll make significant fleet savings with the acquisition. Does that mean they'll drop the Golf (and other VWs) in due course do we think?

Theres usually someone with industry knowledge knocking about on here I wonder if there is any insight into this.

Does this mean Avis have the ability to bulk buy more cars and get a better deal, or is it more maintence and parts savings?
