Another first Motorsport photos thread.

Rather than hijacking the other thread I thought it better to start another. These are a few shots I took on my first (daylight) outing to a motorsport event for some serious(ish) photography.

All taken at on the Christmas Stages Rally at Croft Circuit. Like the photos taken at Knockhill, clutter is a problem on Circuits.

Good photos. I was there also and it was a pain in the ass trying to shoot cars as they chicane'd round hay bales and cones.

Last one is good from an artsy point of view, but the jaunty angled Subaru is just plain wrong.
Penultimate could be deemed underexposed, but I quite like the depiction of how dark it'd become with the clouds overhead - assuming it was that level of darkness in reality.

It was pretty much dark by then, so I think it's a fair representation, 1/6th 5.6 iso 400, handheld. I was playing with my new grad filter too. The lights might have confused the meter a little perhaps?.

Clutter in the background wasn't the only problem, the high fences had holes just big enough to fit a lens through, but not big enough to rotate it, so you couldn't frame properly.

I quite liked the jaunty Subaru.. but hey ho..

Some f the aspect ratios are a bit strange, but I like the framing of the Escort with just tarmac behind it. The 6R4 is also a good shot, but would have been better if the bottom of the wheel hadn't been cropped off. I also like the last one, it is good to catch the atmosphere as well as the action.

Could've maybe used a slower shutter speed on the first 3 but not bad for a first attempt, that and Croft being a bit rubbish for taking pictures due to the fencing.

I'd like to Jez, but I've only got so may Brownie points and need to use most for competing, so I doubt I will be able to get out.
