This auction should prove interesting.

Mr Weiner has a lot of ex UK British micros amongst a lot of Messerschmitt's etc. What was once cheap chuck away transport is now extremely collectable. Prices are now very strong for the "right" stuff.

I have a few of the same sort of cars going through the block and will be very interested to see what they achieve with no reserve. I've found a lot of micro owners will never sell. They get attached to them. Sometimes only death prises them away from their clutches. If they do sell then I've found the car will change owner by a very private treaty. Perhaps I'll sell a couple of machines this summer if they do well at the auction.

I have no idea who's set the estimates as some of the prices seem way out of kilter. All will be revealed however by next month. American auctions appear to be very frantic glitzy affairs. Very un British.

Micros are not everyone's cup of coffee but I like their styling and their eccentric image suits me. (Some people gauge and value a car simply by its shear size). As an aside a friend and I had two tenuously connected machines. My KR200 Kabriolett and his 300SL Roadster! Both German convertibles of the same year. 1963. Now and then they were parked together outside a pub on a lazy Sunday. I lost count of how many times a crowd surrounded my KR and ignored his stunning roadster!

Less is more.. (and 70mpg going easy is quite handy too!)

I remember being 17 years old and heading off along the M4 to a village near Swindon to look at a 73 Suzuki GT250 to ride on l plates, that ages me! Anyway we stopped at a pub for lunch and the car park was full of Meserschmitts etc, still a very vivid memory!

I used to have a GT250! loved it also had an old T500.

I'm always amazed at how much this stuff fetch's. People like them though so what do i know.

Used to play in an Isetta when i was a kid, friend of the family had a garage with loads of (at the time) scrap cars round the back. Wish i'd stuck it in the shed. Remember Gt's too, used to have a 250, got a 380 in the shed just now.

I remember driving a Trojan, which IIRC was a 200cc 2-stroke. What I do remember was turning the key one way to start the engine normally, and the other way for reverse! You had three gears in each direction that way.
