I'm looking for a decent food blender.

The last two or three have been rubbish. Cheap ones just dont work quickly.
We decided to have a christmas present to each other in the form one of these.

Mostly it'll be used for my Malaysian curry. So needs to be able to handle plenty of onions, ginger and galangal and be reasonable full.

Does anyone have any first hand experience of a fast working, finely cutting, easy to clean food blender?

Shad.

Do you mean a stick type

or a jug type blender?
Have a look on nisbets for something that is catering strength.

Thanks for that, I didn't think about catering, industrial equipment.

I posted that totally incorrectly, I'm after a food processor.

Gonna check out Nisbets now.

hahhaha.

biggrin

I love it.

I have just got a new cookbook (modernist cuisine at home) and it is a beautiful book, they tell you a list of 'gadgets' needed for a modern kitchen. Pacojet is on there.

on the subject of the magimix, I have a 4200 and it is superb for chopping veg and salad etc. However I did strip the nylon spindle by trying to do dough in it, and I am not the first, so people should be aware.

The Thermomix kneads dough biggrin

(if you ever wanted to borrow it, see if you could use it, I would be happy to lend it for a few weeks)

Did mention it the other day at the weekly kitchen meeting. Explained if they dropped a trainee chef they could have £10K of kit to make up "the loss" rolleyes

Answer was "where would we put it?" Doesn't mean they've not just ordered a dehydrator, another Robo, meat slicer, a dough mixer and a new veg prep machine eek

well the offer is there if you want it.

I would say it has quite a small footprint for a gadget

OP - I cannot fault my Magimix 4200, though I don't do my dough in it. It seems much better built than it's predecessor (a fairly pricy Kenwood).
