I see the 2013 Ford Fiesta has an Aston Martin-esque grille!

I really like the Fiesta, but this looks ridiculous (makes the car look like a dullard with its mouth hanging open like that), and it's a pretty sneaky trick to steal the grille design like that.

Believe they're going to do it to the new Mondeo too.

Looking at Fiestas last month, looking for a pre-facelift 'new'lease car new one looks like a stretched Cygnet.

That should be in the "bad parking" thread.

Of the fashion for headlights to extend back towards the A pillar, the Fiesta's lights must be the winners.

It looks nothing like an Aston-Martin grille, not even slightly. Why do people make such absurd claims based on a fleeting similarity to something largely dissimilar...

If it was even the teensiest bit like it, I'm sure AM would be down on them like a ton of bricks.

I think it looks really nice, as does the new Mondeo:

Looks good on the Mondildo but a bit silly on the Fiesta as the grill is so large

Aston Martin cannot complain. They already sold out with the Cygnet joke. At least the new Fiesta looks more like an Aston than the rebadged Toyota.

Maybe this will force Aston to try drawing a new shape for a change.

They're both broadly trapezoidal, with some slight truncation at the bottom of the Fiesta's grille. They're not that far apart at all, to say they look nothing like each other is daft. If you said the AM grille looks nothing like the Alfa Romeo grille, I would agree with you.

Exactly! I don't think many people will look at the new Fiesta without thinking "Aston grille".

Fair comment! biggrin

Although I think it would be a shame if Aston lost their grille shape as a result. It's as "Aston" as the double kidney is "BMW".

Don't be daft. It's as clear as day to everyone what Ford are up to.

I think they've ruined an otherwise good looking car with that new nose.

I think the Fiesta in the picture looks quite smart myself.

Ford owned Aston Martin for 13 years from 1994-2007 (I thought they still did so looked it up) and they still own a £40 million stake so doubt they will have many complaints about a similar looking grille.

Think it is similar but don't think its similar enough to make you think it is an aston...

I do agree that looks a little silly on the fiesta though but think the mondeo is pretty decent looking.
