Scotland v England
Discussion
I am just recovering from a trip to London.
Flew down to Luton to pick up a nice old Audi and drive it home. This is the first time I've driven from the London area in a couple of years.
God in heaven, you people need help!!
I have always considered that the speed and enforcement procedures up here were totally unacceptable and had to be changed. It pales into mediocrity compared to England; how on earth did we let our country get like this?; why have we allowed these bureaucratic lunatics, these faceless, chinless, anonymous, misguided clones to dismantle our social structures in the name of political correctness because, make no mistake, that's what it is. It is a miserable, pathetic excuse at managing our country, transport system, road safety; and it fails abominably, but the failure is being laid at our feet.
"Too many cars" - "Far to fast!" - "You can't park there" - "Congestion charges, Road Tax, Toll Roads, Fuel Duty, Fixed Penalties, Parking Charges, What do you mean you pay too much??!!"
They take our Law, yes OUR Law, inherited from the ancient Greeks with it's wonderful protective wisdom and principles, and shape, mould, distort and corrupt it until it is barely recognisable as the set of standards that it should be for subsequent generations to utilise as a guiding torch for their conscience.
Morality? Forget it!!
Natural Justice? It has vanished in the pixels of the camera image, dissolved in the lust for prosecution and persecution, the tangible assets of each merging as one, to be used as the subjugator and exciseman of the motorist by the powers that be.
And yet we're motorists all, even the judges and policeman; why do they not see it? Why can they not take themselves out of the arena of their professional lives and see the whole play unfold before them?
They are too comfortable, too unaccountable, too short-term solution.
We debate, argue, and complain, seething with outrage at the sheer injustice of the thing. In so doing we play right into their hands; fragmented; the cut and thrust of debate about this system and that, the physics and dynamics of safe driving or otherwise. And all the time they continue, their unaccountable jobs with their uninterrupted salaries that we pay.
Think of our intellectual energy in a collective force stating collectively quite simply, NO!!
I need the power of comparative memory, it contains the accumulation of age and therefore experience. People like myself, Triple S, Wildcat and all others in their forties and above know what it was like before it got to this stage. This gives us an incentive, the incentive to assemble and really make a difference. I need, we need, as many of these people to get involved as possible and, over the next week or so, I'm going to present certain experiences so that everyone is aware of just how bad things are on a subliminal level, and not just in the manner that is apparent on a daily basis; and how we can start to change it, COLLECTIVELY!!
E-mail me if you want to be involved.

So, you don't like civil servants?
And you assume they are chinless?
What a load of irrelevant wank you have just spewed.
I take it from this that you are either a "Civil" Servant or support them.
The mentality you display in your last sentence totally reinforces my assertions.
Why don't you try contributing something positive and creative?

At least the house prices are reasonable in Scotland and the scenery is superb....

Street
Hi Street,
I love the place too, I just hate what's happening to it. Unfortunately the house prices have gone through the roof recently, particularly in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The problem is the income isn't there to support them.
But we do have the most beautiful mountains!!

How right you are about Scottish women Street. There's nothing nicer than wakening up to a wee Celtic goddess in bed in the morning!
But I hate to shatter your illusion about the Scottish Widow. She's Roger Moore's daughter!!!
I've got a pair of those cufflinks.

Iolaire,
northernboy claims to be one of those jumped up bookies clerks in the city. ie options, banker.
He knows what I think of him and his ilk from another thread. He's just reinforced my opinion of his worth to society with his post on this thread.
edited to add:- I thought "civil servant" was an oxymoron. Bit like the one I heard some time ago in a pensions trustee meeting "The collective wisdom of investment bankers"

Why bother, it wouldn't change your mind, so I am not going to waste effort trying.
I used to be a civil servant. I moved on, though, to being a trader.

Bit like "safety camera" then?
Sort of, except that safety camera is a bit like calling a place Sellafield and hoping we forget it used to be called Windscale......

Get it right sonny, Trader, not banker.
Sheesh, even the insults seem to be written by retards today.
Yawn!
On towman's earlier "why do people brake test trucks"

I now run the option trading business for an investment bank in the city.
So we can conclude you work for a bank.
Some definitions of banker:
1. One who conducts the business of banking; one who, individually, or as a member of a company, keeps an establishment for the deposit or loan of money, or for traffic in money, bills of exchange, etc.
2. A money changer.
3. The dealer, or one who keeps the bank in a gambling house.
Hmmmmm, I refer the gentleman to my previous answer.
I can see why you don't like being called a banker though, as it does rhyme with .......
Trader or banker, my opinion stands. My last word on the subject.

We allowed politically correct twazaks and pseudo-Tory Boy who has never had an original idea in his life and is really ruled and fooled by the Stasis still in the party.
Also - tis quite lucrative and they really do think people are easily fooled. They deceive themselves - I fear.

They have even been known to doctor these photos in quest to get money - look back to about January. There was a story about Bury traffic wardens being had up fro fraud over doctoring one of these photos in the quest of motorist mugging by uniformed twazak...

Tis simple - they want us peasants to walk. They will mow us all down in their fast cars - but laws will change - the walking wounded will be prosecuted for walking with dodgy legs, walking too fast, walking dangerously with undue care for lofty beak in his car....

The joys of Noo Labia. Unemployment is "illegal" so we will create meaningless jobs for unemployable twazaks to perform.

Liebchen - you will be getting mail from us.... I am 40 now - and not afraid of admitting this.... for reasons which are obvious.... Though people do tell me I carry my age well - no wrinkles, sagging and do not have to dye my hair to hide the grey..... unlike Strassen
He blonds his and fakes his tan.... he may claim otherwise .... but I cannot shake off the image I see each time I see his posts. But am in no doubt what he sees when he read mine - a right WILDY CAT!
But you must not judge from the sparring - he likes me deep down - I think....
Liebchen - you have made a refreshing rant. It is about time we addressed the real issues....
edited for quote thingies - had "fracas" down in kitten corner to deal with is paltry excuse. He should have been taking us all out for yowl on tiles but is still with patient.
