Strongly considering ordering the 286mm Front kit for my MR2, printed off their fitment templates and they squeeze under my 15" wheels, 2 part alloy belled discs, alloy caliper should drop quite a bit of weight off and bigger pad area and bigger disc all should be good, I run wider gripier front tyres than stock 195's Yoko Neovas instead of 185's.

Wondered what they are like in general though quality wise? They are half the price of an AP Racing kit but are they half the kit?

Any feed back from any vehicle would be appreciated smile

Kit is good IMO, but the pads are pants. I'd budget for getting a set of upgraded pads and not even bother fitting the K Sport ones. Nothing wrong with the calipers or discs IMO.

Some people may tell you they're not as good as AP's or Brembo's etc, but to be honest, if they're not fading on track then I don't see how the AP's or Brembo's would provide a tangible benefit over the K Sports. You may find there's some differences in manufacturing or a difference in weight, but IME I don't think the other brands justify the price difference.

However in all things motorsport the last few tenths are the expensive ones. If I were a pro-racer with a big budget then I might feel different. I have them on my track day car. So if you're happy with having 90% of AP/Brembo then K Sports should be fine.

Sounds good, except the pads - so need to opt for different pads. I have Carbotech Panthers on the car at the mo and I'm thinking of the upgrade when they are shot as they are not cheap at £180 a pair.

I've driven a 200SX with them on and they were awesome. they were 356/330 combination (front/back)

Subaru guys use them as well. I'm pretty sure several Time Attack cars use them.

Put the 8 pots up front on my 550bhp evo. They were superb BUT .... as someone has already posted the K-sport "sport" pads that they can come with in the kit are made of cheese. In the kit I purchased there was an option to upgrade the supplied pad which I duly did. They worked admirably with a set of Carbotech XP12 pads and the associated heat produced on many trackdays. A doddle to fit and no further issues other than the actual black colour going a bit reddish due to the heat. An excellent and equivalent product to the much more pricey likes of AP / Endless / Brembo etc etc but without the brand snob tax.

Agree with the guy above, Carbotech are the ones to go for. Give them a call and chances are you'll speak to Ian who's the main man. Tell him what you drive and where and he'll recommend you a set. I started off with XP8's in the stock brembo's on my Evo, then went up to XP10's, then KSports with XP10's and I'm currently on KSports with XP12. The reason for the continual upgrading is that my car spends more and more time on track.

However, the bigger number doesn't neccesarily make them better. In short, brakes have an operating temperature window they work best in. If they are outside this window either through being too cold or too hot then they won't work properly and they'll provide crap braking and they'll also smoke, or fade, or squeal etc. So make sure the ones you pick are suitable.
