Just heard on the news that a man has had a hand transplanted, whilst he is not the first the doctors are hopefull that it will be a complete success, stating the largest barrier to recovery is the "mental" rejection of the limb.

What's next.... how about head skin graft for bald people?

Reminds me of the end of a courtroom story.

Lawyer: 'Is it possible that the suspect could be alive?'

Doctor: 'No'

Lawyer: 'How can you be so sure?'

Doctor: 'Because I have his brain in a jar on my desk'

Lawyer: 'But he could still be deemed to be technically alive, no?'

Doctor: :sigh: 'Well, he could be practicing law somewhere, yes'.

No, but we definitely have some people who are only a small step up from a minkey in the brains department.

I thought it was spelled Minke and that whales were fairly intelligent.

I think he is referring to Inspector Clouseau: "You have the brains of a minkey".

Wouldn't that be a body transplant?

Would the resulting person legally be the body, or the brain?

I'd say the brain is the person.

How about revitalising your brain - very early days but this could end up being a cure for things like Alzheimers http://interestingengineering.com/index.php/the-be...

You haven't met me. There's one part of me that is responsible for most of my decisions and it isn't my brain.

If it's what I think it is, typing must be awkward...
